Pier Street Murals
This was the first beautification project with a visible impact: over several years, artist Dan Richey from Nanaimo created about 25 murals in his air brush technique, starting with the "sharks" on the lawyer's building in 1998. The large Pier Street mural on the Ridgerider building was done in 2001.

Cleanup Work Bees
During the first years of the existence of the association, members and friends of the Association met on Sunday mornings on a regular base to take on one part after the other of the street for cleaning and weeding. Most of the times they met in the Lookout before or after this for a free or sponsored breakfast.

The Flower Barrels
This was the first major fundraiser with great participation of many merchants and property owners. In 2002 the first batch of wine barrels was planted and set up in a "Roll out the Barrels" party. The first plants got "drunk" though. More barrels were added over time and other parts of town picked up this decorative idea. Replanting them twice a year is not a problem, but watering them.. And vandalism happened often, decreasingly.

Driftwood Pilings
Thanks Crabby Bob for this unique idea which added a lot of maritime flavour to the street. This was cheap and effective and done in special work bees. It did cost an extra liability insurance, though. Pier Street was later invited to build driftwood pilings for the new Mariner Square and other communities asked for the "recipe".

The Historic Mile
This project was a real highlight for Pier Street which now attracts a lot of visitors to study the 22 historic signs. Installed in February of 2007, it had taken 5 years of planning and fundraising, which finally came to fruition thanks to a close cooperation with City Hall. Before that, Pier Street had already celebrated the fact that this area of town represented the roots of Campbell River.
